KCLIBA Tour
Added: Wednesday 26th March 2025 2:14 pm
This took place from 17th -21st March 2025. The coach left Oyster Indoor Bowls Club at 8.45am on the Monday morning. Pick up points were The Village at Maidstone and Dartford Stone Lodge. Our driver Kev chose Peterborough as our stop on the way. We arrived at Warners Nidd Hall around 3.30pm. We all registered and found our rooms. The site was a bit of a maze with not everyone on the same level and some far away from the dining facilities. Dinner was served at 7.30pm after which people could go to their rooms to watch TV or partake of the entertainment. The next day was our first Match against Selby. A lot of Selby's team comprised of men but Kent held their own and we only lost by 88-79 shots. Wednesday's match was at Darlington and they fielded nearly all men but our ladies rose to the challenge and beat them by 103-93. Well done girls and the couple of men who played for us. The last match was on Thursday and was against New Earswick. The result was 103 to them and 91 to us. On our last evening we had our raffle and played a few games led by Sue Gilbert, Maddie McConomy and Deirdre Chedzoy. The misdemeanors were done by Pat Wells and Deidre Williams where we had to donate for committing a misdemeanor during the tour. All monies from the swindles, raffles, misdemeanors and games were donated to the British Heart Foundatiion. Totals collected from them were £293.86. Congratulations Wendy for a great tour and for the funds raised for the British Heart Foundatiion.
